Homestead
Homestead is a personal wiki software.
You can create markdown documents to organize your home maintenance knowledge, notes on how your home lab works, how to setup the WiFi, etc.
And documents have fancy attachments.
This is very new, and I am working on the basic file operations at the moment.
Special features
- Attachments get translated automatically to selected languages.
- Documents can have reminders
- App exposes a calendar feed for the reminders
- Keeps history of changes on documents and attachments
- Will one day support encryption at rest for the documents. (idk how yet)
Why?
I mean, the features are not much, but they are what I really need at the moment.
Translation
I live in Germany but don't know the language well enough to understand documents. So, this is supposed to help me by automatically translating them, and keeping the original as well. Sometimes I need one more translation to share it with others too, that is why the extensible translation feature.
I'm planning to use DeepL for the translations.
Calendar feed
I very often forget deadlines written on documents. So I assume if I set the reminders up while uploading the documents, it can remind me.
